The Autumn Memory Book Challenge

A gentle four-week challenge for families: capture one meaningful moment each week and gather them into a shared Memory Book.

Children walking ahead on an autumn path

This page is for families taking part in our Autumn Memory Book Challenge. If you received a link from a friend or from MMOY, welcome. The challenge runs for four weeks and takes only a few minutes each week.

How the challenge works

Each week, capture one meaningful moment as a family. It can be a photograph, a short video, a voice recording or a few written lines. At the end of four weeks, gather your moments into a shared Memory Book.

There is no prize and no pressure. The goal is simply to notice a little more and keep what you notice.

Week one: an ordinary evening

Capture something from an ordinary weeknight. Dinner, homework, a game, the bedtime routine. Ordinary evenings are where family life really happens.

Week two: a conversation

Record a short conversation with someone in your family. Ask a child what they love about autumn, or ask a grandparent what autumn was like when they were young.

Week three: a place

Photograph a place that matters to your family. A park bench, a kitchen corner, a grandparent’s garden. Add a sentence about why it matters.

Week four: something you are grateful for

Each family member chooses one thing they are grateful for this autumn. Write them down together and photograph the list.

Four small moments, kept on purpose, can say more about a season than a hundred photographs taken by accident.

After the challenge

When the four weeks are done, look back at your moments together. Most families are surprised by how much those four small memories capture. Some decide to keep going all year.
